About IHFF
Irish Historic Flight Foundation
Founded in 2014, the Irish Historic Flight Foundation (IHFF) is dedicated to preserving Ireland’s aviation heritage through the operation of historic, airworthy aircraft. Rather than focusing on static displays, IHFF believes that historic aircraft should continue to fly, allowing people to experience aviation history as it was meant to be seen and heard.
Operating with the support of volunteers, industry partners, and the wider aviation community, IHFF plays an active role in showcasing Ireland’s aviation story at events across the country.
Our Mission
Preserving Irish Aviation History
The IHFF exists to protect, operate, and celebrate historic aircraft connected to Ireland, ensuring that aviation heritage remains active, visible, and relevant.
Preservation
We preserve historic aircraft using best-practice restoration and maintenance standards, safeguarding both the aircraft and the knowledge required to operate them.
Operations
The IHFF maintains historic aircraft in an airworthy condition, allowing them to fly at events and displays throughout Ireland and abroad.
Engagement
Through public appearances, partnerships, and storytelling, the IHFF connects people with Ireland’s aviation heritage in an authentic and meaningful way.
