Preserve. Educate. Inspire.

The Irish Historic Flight Foundation (IHFF) brings Ireland’s aviation heritage to life through historic aircraft that continue to fly, teach and inspire.

Established in 2014, powered entirely by volunteers and based at our dedicated facility at Ballyboy Airfield in County Meath, IHFF keeps these aircraft active so people can connect with the achievements, skills and stories that shaped Irish aviation.

Our aim is simple: to protect Ireland’s flying heritage, create meaningful learning experiences, and encourage the next generation of engineers, pilots, innovators and aviation professionals.

Living heritage in flight

Historic aircraft are most powerful when they are experienced as living machines. Through careful stewardship, specialist knowledge and volunteer dedication, IHFF keeps aviation heritage active, visible and relevant for today’s audiences and tomorrow’s aviation talent.
